Target Coming to Bethesda

SO it seems that Target is going to open one of its urban style stores on the first floor of The Shops of Wisconsin – better known as the Trader Joes complex.  While the Target will certainly provide some advantages to the community, it will also pose a challenge from a parking perspective. Things are already tough there and Target will increase the pressure for spaces. Now, it is true that the Bethesda shuttle runs to that spot – perhaps there is a way to increase the number of shuttles running particularly during peak shopping times? The real estate space being secured by Target is approx 35,000 it seems. What do you think? Benefit? Problem?

600 Unit Building Near Bethesda Marriott Pooks Hill?

We just heard that there is a fairly detailed proposal for a 600 unit residential building to be developed between the Bethesda Marriott and the Promenade Coop Building on Pooks Hill.  My friend and colleague, Peggy Bresler, just mentioned that there is an application for development with the county as well as a sketch plan (see below). We will provide more info as we get it.

Please let us know if you have any more details and feel free to get in touch if this is of particular interest. My email raj@rajabout.com

Grosvenor Heights Bethesda Model Ready for Viewing!

I recently popped by Grosvenor Heights, the new townhome project by EYA Homes located in Bethesda. The model home is now open and the 33 acre community is really starting to take shape. I liked many of the features in the model and think that the elevator’s are a wise addition.

Happy to discuss further and set up a showing if that is useful. Feel free to give me a call on this or any other real estate matter at (240)486-3921.

Cheers!

New School Ratings Tool

As we all know, many of our neighbors have moved to Bethesda for the highly ranked schools. A new tool provides competition to the existing sites and perhaps makes things a little bit easier for those considering a real estate purchase with schools in mind. It is important to always double check the boundaries with the school board.

The tool can be found here: http://www.cruvita.com/results?location=bethesda-md-c&tab=schools

This is test search I conducted on Bethesda schools.

Remember if you need any real estate assistance in the Bethesda/ DC metro area, including a possible move into a specific school district, you can reach me at raj@rajabout.com and (240)486-3921.

Real Estate Seminar

Fellow Bethesda Actually Community members, I just wanted to take a moment to invite you to a real estate seminar that I will be holding at the end of February (2/27/16 at 10am). We are trying to pin down the venue (in part it will depend on projected attendance) but the topic is confirmed:

“Why Buyers and Sellers should think like investors”

It promises to be a fun discussion (hopefully we will have a guest speaker as well) and I will be providing breakfast snacks, juice etc. Please send me an email to raj@rajabout.com if you can attend – put “real estate seminar rsvp” in the subject line.

Thanks and feel free to spread the word!

Circulator Extended Route

Here at Bethesda Actually we are big fans of the next Circulator route – by driving down Battery Lane the Circulator provides an easy transport option for those who live in buildings ranging from the Madison to the Whitehall to the soon to open residences at the corner of Battery and Woodmont. Additionally, the fact that the new route takes you to Trader Joes is also really terrific. Good thinking folks!DSCF4982

Grosvenor Heights

Friends,

As noted yesterday I visited the site for a new town home development in Bethesda (on Grosvenor lane) called Grosvenor Heights. It is a 33 acre space tucked away close to Grosvenor metro/ 270 access and reasonably close to Wildwood Shopping Center.

The 33 acre space is interesting because it includes a historic property or two + a small office building that seems to be reserved for environmental orgs. It is surrounded by trees and vegetation (and apparently their are efforts to work on increasing native vegetation).

The town home community itself is just being built. The properties will range in price from 1.1 million (approx) to just under 1.4 million (approx) and will have a lot of terrific features including roof terraces and elevators.

I had a very good discussion with the staff there and am happy to set up a private hard hat tour/ viewing if that is of interest to readers of this blog. As ever, you can email me raj@rajabout.com or call at 240 486 3921

I took a few snaps to showcase the work so far and also a map of the area:
