Interesting Story on Woodmont Central Plans

Friends,

Erin over at Patch has an interesting story on the updated plans for Woodmont Central. She notes that:

The Battery Lane building would be 90 feet tall with more than 90,000 square feet of commercial and retail space. Two options are being considered for development of the Rugby site – as either two 174-foot-tall, nearly 500,000 square foot buildings; or two 143-foot-tall, 408,459 square foot buildings.

More information on the proposed amendments to the Woodmont Central plan is available via the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.

Open House Commercial Office in Bethesda

Friends,

If you know anyone who is looking for a commercial office space in Bethesda for purchase you should encourage them to pop by the Open House at 7960 Old Georgetown Road (unit 4) today between 12pm-2pm.  It is a wonderful space, well suited to a small legal/medical/other professional practice.

Feel free to call me with any questions!

Open House of the Week: Location 6424 Ridge Drive, Bethesda

Friends,

We are going to try something new on the real estate side of the site. Each week we will showcase one Open House that you may want to visit. Please feel free to email us with suggestions over the course of the week!

First up is an Open House that I will be holding in the Brookmont neighborhood this Sunday (April 17th) from 1-4pm.

The house itself is wonderful — it is a traditional home with a contempory addition. It has 5 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, slate and wood floors and the most wonderful views of High Island, the Potomac and the C&O canal.

As for the community itself, well Brookmont is fabulous and is a bit of a hidden gem in the Bethesda area. The WP ran a nice feature on it some years ago (see here) that started with this wonderful line:

Living in the Brookmont neighborhood of Bethesda and not kayaking, Bill Guerry often says, is like living in Aspen, Colo., and not knowing how to ski.”

And this portion of the article will give you a flavor of the area:

While front and back yards are small, the public space is vast. Because the neighborhood has only a single way to enter and leave, the streets are free from traffic. They are taken over instead by dog-walkers, cyclists, parents or nannies with children.

Along with the nearby C&O Canal towpath and Crescent biking trail, the neighborhood has its own playground and open field at one end, which is run by Montgomery County. A tree-lined grassy median runs the length of Broad Street, serving as front yard for the houses on that street and as a greenway for children to run from one end of the neighborhood to the other. The “Village Green” is also where many neighborhood-wide events are staged.

So if you have a little time free on Sunday to come and look at a delighful property in a super part of Bethesda, or if you or a friend or family member is looking for a new place to call home, please visit me at my Open House and please mention you saw this invite on Bethesda Actually

PS And do not hesitate to be in contact if I can help you with any real estate matters!

Cheers, Raj (2404863921 or rajlaw@yahoo.com)

Empty House on Elm Street still Boarded-up – any info?

This house on Elm Street, which we’ve written about before on several occasions, is still boarded-up and seemingly empty, despite a car regularly parked outside.  Does anyone have any news or info about this property?  I’m wondering if it is being used for some purpose related to the current construction of new buildings on the same street?

More on Symphony Park – Strathmore

Friends, I participated in a private briefing for a client at Symphony Park and have to say that I am even more excited about this project than I was before. As discussed previously, it is a wonderful integrated arts and living community in a strategically important area between downtown Bethesda and White Flint.

If you are interested in learning more about Symphony Park give me a call at (240)486-3921. I’m happy to answer your questions. I’ll be writing more in the days ahead. Cheers! Raj

Live at Symphony Park – Strathmore

Friends, I attended a wonderful preview event organized by the builders of the new Symphony Park residential community project over the weekend. It was a prelaunch of sorts, for friends and family of the builders and a few select others and I was grateful to receive an invite.

As a realtor and someone who loves our area I have had high hopes for this project and I have to say that the builders look like they are ready to deliver something very special. From the amazing quality of the Brownstone community to the integrated nature of the community (green space and a special relationship with Strathmore) the project fits together beautifully.

I have already arranged a private visit for one of my clients and if you are interested in learning more about Symphony Park give me a call at (240)486-3921. I’m happy to answer your questions. I’ll be writing more in the days ahead. Cheers! Raj

Fantastic to see the ground floor of PeriPoint in use by Thornett Kitchens!  We’ve followed the development of this unique building for a while now and love the way it’s looking.  Find out more at their website, including info about advertizing with them.  As they point, out, over 2 million cars pass PeriPoint each month, so it could be a great opportunity!
