Thanks Nandos!

One week ago we decided to spend Inauguration Day at Nando’s in Bethesda and I just wanted to take a moment to thank the wonderful folks there for a terrific lunch — we popped over there for food, some good cheer and positive vibes on that important day and they did not disappoint. Find below a picture of the back of the back of one of their marketing team (he is sporting the “everyone is welcome” concept on his tshirt) and a picture of a cool mural inside the restaurant:

Bethesda Restaurant Week

Bethesda Restaurant Week is winding down friends but you still a couple of days left. We enjoyed Mon Ami Gabi at the start of restaurant week and found the food to be terrific and a good value. Might try and pop over to Cesco before the week is up and see what their menu is like.

Let us know what your favorite spot was for restaurant week – drop me an email at raj@rajabout.com

Going to Nandos Bethesda Today!

Seemed like a good place to be on inauguration day based on this: http://everyoneiswelcome.us/

Watching Premier League Soccer in Bethesda

If you are new to the Bethesda area and also happen to be a fan of English Soccer AKA the English Premier League, you will probably want to know where you can go to make some new friends and watch the game in a fun atmosphere.

For me, the best place to watch the games is at Flanagan’s Harp and Fiddle on Cordell Ave. It is a terrific pub and they tend to show a lot of the EPL games (as well as Rugby and – it seems – most of Celtic FC’s games).

Weekend mornings are a good time to head over there for the big game and enjoy some breakfast and good company.

Check the schedule online or give them a call in advance.

Cheers!

Cold Sweeps Bethesda – Next Two Days Sub Zero Temps!

Take care out there folks. It it incredibly cold out there.

Here are a couple of thoughts for a chilly Thursday.

If you want to assist someone in a tougher spot than you, consider supporting Bethesda Cares Inc. or one of the many wonderful homeless organizations in Bethesda or the surrounding area. Their address: 7728 Woodmont Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814

Shifting gears, if you need a warm pick me up yourself, here are a few thoughts:

1. A warm and hearty soup at Panera Bread – yes it is a chain but they do have some lovely soups and the staff have always been super 🙂

2. La Madeline’s – a warm fire and warm soups – what’s not to like?

3. Satsuma and Raku – wonderful locations for noodle soups!

Bethesda Chocolates is Amazing

Friends,

Make yourself very popular this season and dash over to Bethesda Chocolates as quickly as you can.

I was fortunate enough to attend the pre-launch event this weekend and sampled a host of delightful, decadent morsels of wonderful sweet goodness!

Thinking quickly (which is not easy when you are drinking the best hot chocolate this side of the Sofitel) I snaffled a lot of terrific Christmas presents for friends and family + a selection of truffles and other goodies for Christmas day.

Hurrah and well done Bethesda Chocolate – looking forward to getting my chocolate fix via your store for years to come!

PS They are in soft launch mode at the moment (staffing up etc) and I believe that will be fully open at the turn of the year but they are open at the moment so enjoy and let me know what is your favorite nibble – email me at raj@rajabout.com

Well, that was a surprise. I suspect a few of our community members will need a pick me up this morning/ day.

SO – here are our top 3 picks to recover from Election 2016:

1. Lunch at Passion Fish – good food and those omega’s are good for the heart
