This seems rather odd for someone highly familiar with Bethesda who has previously posted on the (not normally particularly interesting) issue of local parking lots. But as someone that rarely drives a car, I’d come into possession of one last week and needed a place to park in downtown Bethesda.
Having chosen the parking lot on Bethesda Avenue behind Weichert Realtors (map below), I inadvertantly drove into the “Monthly Parking” entrance and proceeded to anger the office workers behind me who had to wait until someone came to swipe me in – I didn’t have a swipe card and needless to say, the attendant was nowhere to be seen! If you were one of those office workers, I apologize sincerely – and if it’s any consolation, I was a bit embarrased at the time!
Once in, I immediately had to figure out a way to get out. Raj had some sage advice that went something along the lines of “Get out of there quickly before your rental car get towed”, and thankfully the people who worked there were very kind and understanding of my plight. Finally, after the ordeal was over, I drove into the correct parking lot immediately adjacent and carried on with my day.
I just wanted to share in case you’re new to Bethesda (or like me, seem to lack basic knowledge of some of the local amenities) or need a place to park. Whatever you do, go for the normal hourly parking option!

Having been asking me for a while I decided this past would be a good weekend to try and teach my better half how to play soccer (which she picked up expertly!). As always for sporting goods I figured Modell’s on Wisconsin was the place to go. And again as always, they were awesomely helpful and I came away with a soccer ball, pump and needle for $22.23. Not a bad deal, and just wanted to give Modell’s a quick show out – thanks guys!

Friends,
In a shocking shift in this tragic case the surviving “victim” has now been charged with murder:
Store employee Brittany Norwood, 27, was discovered tied and beaten alongside the body of Jayna Murray, 30, who was killed last Friday at the high-end athletic boutique where she worked, police said.
Montgomery County Police now allege that Norwood killed Murray and inflicted wounds on herself to appear as though she were a victim.
This is obviously an important update…..we will try and bring additional details to you as we get them.

We met Rhonda (see www.teamronda.com) as she was heading out to celebrate St. Patrick’s day. She is in a big fight to beat cancer and we think she is an incredible lady. Please head to her www.teamronda.com and wish her the best in her fight!

Friends,
Just thought we’d take a second to wish you a Happy St. Patrick’s day and suggest a few places to go and celebrate this evening (in no particular order):
1. The Irish Inn at Glen Echo — you know that we love this place and believe that the pub side has a unique authenticity to it. Should have some super live music there from late afternoon.
2. Harp and Fiddle — we are sure that Steve and the whole crew over there will make sure you have a super time!
3. RiRa — very convenient if you are in “new” Bethesda — don’t forget their Chip Shop/ Box specials on a day like today!
Enjoy and please don’t drink and drive!
