I’m not sure if you have had a chance to visit Nando’s Peri Peri restaurant in Washington, DC (or for that matter visit one of the international branches of the Nando’s empire). If you haven’t, well, you should! The restaurant is oriented around chicken (although it has lots of other good stuff on offer as well) and a wonderful sauce called Peri Peri (see here).It was founded in South Africa and is massively popular in many countries around the world.
Nando’s came to the US in 2008 and as it has been expanding in this area it seemed to many that Bethesda would be a perfect spot for a new restaurant. Unfortunately it seems that there are no immediate plans for opening one here in Bethesda (I’ve heard that costs and questions about the market may be an issue).
I think that this is a shame for Bethesda and Nando’s as it could be the perfect fit…..I wonder if we can do anything to change the minds of Nando’s USA?

I think Nando’s would be a great option for Bethesda, however I think they need to add more vegetarian options to their menu?! Nandos USA has a different menu to the Nandos in England …
