Bethesda Hotspot

So I am  waiting to enter Barnes and Nobles to work on a few projects and decided to try and get online from outside the store. I actually found connectivity with the Bethesda UP sponsored hotspot to be pretty quick. It did get me thinking — what is the free internet connectivity like across Bethesda. Has anyone mapped it out? What are your impressions? I do think that for a town like ours it is important to have free connectivity in as wide an area as possible — what do people think about that? Good idea or not?

There is never a downside to have another source of connectivity online! What Bethesda is doing is awesome, and I hope they continue.

Bethesda UP wifi is in the Bethesda Row area and in Veterans park. A number of stores also have free wifi I think Caribou Coffee, BlackFinn, Tommy Joes, and Hardtimes cafe do.

    Quartermaine’s has free wifi.

The Bethesda Library wifi connection is slow and unpredictable, so the Friends of the Library, Montgomery County just provided funds to speed things up. Details at
