Bethesda Actually

Just wanted to bring a global to local story to you attention. As we know, President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize last year and in addition to the award itself he received a decent chunk of prize money. He announced at the time that he would be giving it away and just saw an article that broke down home he is gifting the money. Charities that benefit from the Obama Nobel money include a range of US education funds + one that works on education in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He also is giving a lot of money to the Clinton-Bush Haiti fund. Of local interest is the fact that he is giving $250,000 to Fisher House for a temporary housing for family of hospitalized veterans both here in Bethesda (at the Naval hospital) and at Dover.
